ARTICLE 30 DURATION AND TERMINATION

This Convention shall remain in force until terminated by a Contracting State. Either Contracting State may terminate the Convention, through diplomatic channels, by giving written notice of termination at least six months before the end of any calendar year following an initial period of five years from the date on which the Convention enters into force. In such event, the Convention shall cease to have effect:

a) In Portugal:

i) In respect of taxes withheld at source, the fact giving rise to them appearing on or after the first day of January of the calendar year next following that specified in the said notice of termination;

ii) In respect of other taxes, as to income arising in the fiscal year

beginning on or after the first day of January of the year next following that specified in the said notice of termination;

b) In Cyprus:

i) In respect of taxes withheld at source, to income derived on or after

the first day of January of the calendar year next following that specified in the said notice of termination;

ii) In respect of other taxes on income, to taxes chargeable for any

taxable year beginning on or after the first day of January of the calendar year next following that specified in the said notice of termination.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF the undersigned, duly authorized thereto, have signed this Convention. DONE at Brussels this 19 day of November 2012, in duplicate, in the Portuguese, Greek, and English languages, all texts being equally authentic. In case of any divergence of interpretation of this Convention, the English text shall prevail.
