The Council of the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF, the Centre) in accordance with Article 18(1) of the ECMWF Convention recommends the Member States to accept the following amendments to the Convention establishing the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts: In the Dutch, French, German, and Italian versions the mention of paragraphs/sub-paragraphs has been replaced in the entire Convention by citing the respective numbers/letters in brackets only.

basis for environmental monitoring; NOTING that such a centre can also assist in the post-university training of scientists; ASSURING that the activities of such a centre will, moreover, make a necessary contribution to

certain programmes of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and to other relevant agencies;
