Rule 1 - Objective

The Forum shall have the following objectives:

● To advance democracy by promoting women’s rights as fundamental human rights;

● To foster contacts and coordination among parliamentarians on all topics of common

interests in order to ensure gender mainstreaming in all policy areas of the Assembly’s mandate;

● To encourage and promote the participation of women parliamentarians in the work of the

Assembly and to promote their equitable representation at all levels of responsibility within the

Organization;

● To conduct studies on issues of common interests and as appropriate, to prepare reports

and recommendations on these subjects;

Rule 2 - Membership

● Both women and men PAM MPs are members of the WPF, the purpose is to integrate

everyone in building a gender-equal future. The number of PAM MPs members of the WPF cannot

exceed the number of PAM delegates from each delegation.

Rule 3 - Chairperson

•The Chairperson is elected among members of the WPF for a fixed term mandate of 2 year.

The Chair alternately rotates between the northern and southern geopolitical groups. For the

duration of the mandate, two Vice-chairs are elected.

Rule 4 - Sessions

Frequency:

● One meeting per year.

Format:

● The Convocation of the Forum of Women Parliamentarians, together with the provisional

agenda, shall be sent to all PAM Members and Associate Members of the at least two months

before its opening;

● May be invited to the sessions of the WPF to provide quality contributions on issues of

concern to the WPF: International and regional organizations, NGOs, other members of National

Parliaments, academics, representatives from the business sector;

● The WPF Sessions are public, but can be held in camera following a vote at 2/3rd majority;
