Union with Switzerland and Switzerland is a Member of the Association.
2. For the purposes of this Convention the Principality of Liechtenstein shall be represented by Switzerland.
3. This Protocol shall be retified by the signatory Satates. The instruments of ratification shall be deposited with the Governement of Sweden which shall notify all other signatory States.
4. This Protocol shall enter into force on the deposit of instruments of ratification by all signatory States.

In witness whereof the undersigned duly authorised thereto have signed the present Protocol.

Done at Stockolm this 4th day of January 1960 in a single copy in the English and French languages both texts being equally authentic which shall be deposited with the Government of Sweden by which certified copies shall be transmitted to all other sibnatory and acceding States.

NOTE ON PREPARATORY COMMITTEE

When Ministers from Austria, Denmark, Norway, Portugal, Sweden. Switzerland and the United Kingdom met in Stockholm on 19th 20th November 1959 approve the Convention establishing a European Free Trade Association they decided to set up a Preparatory Committee to deal before the entry into force of the Convention, with the following matteirs:
1. Drafting of rules of procedure of the Council:
1. Proposals concerning arrangements for the secretariat services of the Association including the Staff regulations;
1. Drafting of regulations on financial arrangements necessary for the administrative expenses of the association includind the pro-

2. Para os fins da Convenção o Principado de Listeustaina será representado pela Suíça;

3. O presente Protocolo será ratificado pelos Estados signatários. Os instrumentos de ratificação serão depositados junto do Governo da Suíça que notificará todos os outros Estados signatários;

Em fé do que os abaixo assinados devidamente autorizados para esse efeito assinaram o presente Protocolo.
Feito em Estocolmo aos 4 de Janeiro de 1960 num único exemplar em inglês e francês sendo ambos os textos igualmente autênticos, o qual será depositado junto do Governo da Suécia que dele transmitirá cópia certificada a todos os Estados signatários e aderentes.

NOTA SOBRE A COMISSÃO PREPARATÓRIA

Quando os Ministros da Áustria, Dinamarca, Noruega, Portugal, Suécia, Suíça e reino Unido se reuniram em Estocolmo em 19 e 20 de Novembro de 1959, para aprovarem a Convenção que institui a Associação Europeia de Comercio Livre resolveram criar uma Comissão Preparatória para tratar das seguintes questões antes da entrada em vigor da Convenção:

1. Elaboração das regras de processo do Conselho;
2. Proposta acerca das disposições relativas aos serviços de secretariado da Associação incluindo os regulamentos do pessoal;
3. Elaboração de regulamentos acerca das disposições financeiras relativas ás despesas administrativas da Associação incluindo o pro-
