2 – Such denunciation shall become effective on the first day of the month following the expiration of a period

of six months after the date of receipt of the notification by the Secretary General of the Council of Europe.

3 – Denunciation of the Convention automatically entails denunciation of this Protocol.

Article 15

Notifications

The Secretary General of the Council of Europe shall notify the member States of the Council of Europe and

any State which has acceded to this Protocol of:

a) Any signature;

b) The deposit of any instrument of ratification, acceptance, approval or accession;

c) Any date of entry into force of this Protocol in accordance with Articles 9 and 10;

d) Any reservation made in accordance with Article 10, paragraph 3, and Article 21, paragraph 5, of the

Convention as amended by this Protocol, as well as Article 6, paragraph 3, of this Protocol, and any withdrawal

of such a reservation;

e) Any declaration made in accordance with Article 12, paragraph 1, and Article 14, paragraph 3, of the

Convention as amended by this Protocol, as well as Article 12 of this Protocol, and any withdrawal of such a

declaration;

f) Any notification received in pursuance of the provisions of Article 14 and the date on which denunciation

takes effect;

g) Any other act, declaration, notification or communication relating to this Protocol.

In witness whereof the undersigned, being duly authorised thereto, have signed this Protocol.

Done at Vienna, this 20th day of September 2012, in English and in French, both texts being equally authentic,

in a single copy which shall be deposited in the archives of the Council of Europe. The Secretary General of the

Council of Europe shall transmit certified copies to each member State of the Council of Europe and to the non-

member States which have acceded to the Convention.

Quarto Protocolo Adicional à Convenção Europeia de Extradição

Os Estados-membros do Conselho da Europa, signatários do presente Protocolo,

Considerando que o objetivo do Conselho da Europa consiste em alcançar uma união mais estreita entre os

seus membros;

Desejando fortalecer a sua capacidade individual e coletiva de dar resposta à criminalidade;

Tendo em conta as disposições da Convenção Europeia de Extradição (STE n.º 24), aberta à assinatura em

Paris, a 13 de dezembro de 1957 (doravante designada “a Convenção”), bem como os três Protocolos Adicionais

à mesma (STE n.º 86 e 98, e STCE n.º 209), feitos em Estrasburgo, a 15 de outubro de 1975, 17 de março de

1978 e 10 de novembro de 2010, respetivamente;

Considerando ser desejável atualizar determinadas disposições da Convenção, e completá-la, em certos

aspetos, tendo em conta a evolução da cooperação internacional em matéria penal desde a entrada em vigor

da Convenção e dos respetivos Protocolos Adicionais;

Acordam no seguinte:
