2 — Any associate member may withdraw its membership from the Institute. Such withdrawal shall become effective the day on which this has been notified to the depositary.

Article XVII Entry into force

1 — This Agreement shall be open for signature by States participating in the Founding Conference, held in Stockholm on the 27th of February 1995, until the date of the second Council meeting.

2 — This Agreement shall enter into force on the day upon which at least three States have signed it and provided each other with notification that the formalities required by their national legislation have been completed.

3 — For those States which can not provide such notification on the day of its entry into force, the Agreement shall enter into force thirty days after receipt by the depositary of notification that the formalities required by national legislation have been completed.

Article XVIII Accession

Any State or intergovernmental organization may at any time notify the Secretary General of its request to accede to this Agreement. If the request is approved by the Council the Agreement will enter into force for that State or intergovernmental organization thirty days after the date of the deposit of its instrument of accession.

In witness whereof, the undersigned being duly authorised thereto, have signed this Agreement in a single original in the English language, which shall be deposited with the Secretary General who shall send copies thereof to all the members of the Institute.

RESOLUÇÃO

APROVA, PARA RATIFICAÇÃO, 0 PROTOCOLO DE 1988 PARA A REPRESSÃO DE ACTOS ILÍCITOS DE VIOLÊNCIA NOS AEROPORTOS AO SERVIÇO DA AVIAÇÃO CIVIL INTERNACIONAL, COMPLEMENTAR À CONVENÇÃO PARA A REPRESSÃO DE ACTOS ILÍCITOS CONTRA A SEGURANÇA DA AVIAÇÃO CIVIL, ADOPTADA EM MONTREAL EM 23 DE SETEMBRO DE 1971.

A Assembleia da República resolve, nos termos dos artigos 161.°, alínea /), e 166.°, n.° 5, da Constituição, aprovar, para ratificação, o Protocolo para a Repressão de Actos Ilícitos de Violência nos Aeroportos ao Serviço da Aviação Civil Internacional, complementar à Convenção para a Repressão de Actos Ilícitos contra a Segurança da Aviação Civil, adoptado em 24 de Fevereiro de 1988, em Montreal, cujo texto original em inglês e francês e respectiva tradução em português seguem em anexo ao presente diploma.

PROTOCOL FOR THE SUPPRESSION OF UNLAWFUL ACTS OF VIOLENCE AT AIRPORTS SERVING INTERNATIONAL CWll AVIATION, SUPPLEMENTARY TO THE CONVENTION FOR THE SUPPRESSION OF UNLAWFUL ACTS AGAINST THE SAFETY OF CIVIL AVIATION, DONE AT MONTREAL ON 23 SEPTEMBER 1971.

The States Parties to this Protocol:

Considering that unlawful acts of violence which endanger or are likely to endanger the safety of persons at airports serving international civil aviation or which jeopardize the safe operation of such airports undermine the confidence of the peoples of the world in safety at such airports and disturb the safe and orderly conduct of civil aviation for all States;
